Apparently, CNN International — the version of CNN that we don’t get here in the US — made a little boo-boo the other day when running news about British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s resignation. Normally CNN International is vastly superior to the domestic product and its more inane version, Headline News, which features the same vapid coverage with smaller words.
On this occasion, however, the person in charge of captions was either typing too fast, or they’re a little dyslexic and their deepest, darkest Freudian fantasies came out when they were unable to tell the difference between two world leaders whose names both start with “B”:

Obviously, this isn’t a plot from the pinko leftist commies to discredit the president — it only ran once and was corrected pretty quickly. It is, however, highly amusing, and I intend to pull up this image many times during the remaining 18 months of campaigning for the White House…

Well, Blair has become Tweedle Dee to Tweedle Dum, and now it would be asking much of us here or in the UK to make any meaningful distinction between the two. (raises beer mug) Here’s to that caption becoming reality.
