Good grief, it’s only Tuesday.
To say that today was a bear would be a dramatic understatement. There was office drama of the sort that was manufactured by someone {else} and involved needless amounts of time wasting. It had me to the point where I wanted to crawl under my desk and hide for the end of the week.
In University-Land, we’re sprinting toward the end of the semester. Next Friday (the 7th) is the last day of classes, and there’s a lot of us doing the “if I can just make it through the next week … ” thing.
I’m off to yet another conference on Friday. As much as it pains me as a near-dromomaniac to say this, I’m just not ready for another trip. There’s too much left undone at work, too much prep to do, and God help me if I have to do this presentation one more time I’m gonna go nuts.
This time, I’m off to San Diego, which does, at least, have certain advantages over my recent trip to Montreal. The weather should be nicer. There’s no language barrier (or at least I’ll be able to surmount it, since I can actually speak Spanish). And it looks like there will be an ROHK-ShindoTV blogger summit, which I am looking forward to.
In the meantime, however, there’s lots to do at home and at work, and I am weary of all of it.
In another day or two, I will post the first four chapters of my still-untitled book that I started (but won’t finish) as part of NaNoWriMo. Not that I don’t finishing … or trying to … the book, but the deadline for the competition is Friday at midnight Pacific Time, and there’s no way in hell it’s going to be done by then.
I let Ray read the beginning, and he really liked it (and, yes, he would be honest about it if he hadn’t). I need some more feedback … and maybe suggestions for a title?
Anyway. I hope your week is off to a less traumatic start! Happy Tuesday!

I’m stealing the title ofChris’s post, but it’s appropriate. This latter half of the year I returned to teaching. Over the summer, I took on a job teaching at a private language school. I liked the students and my coworkers (including the director), but it was also the most temp-like job
I wish I was on UT’s schedule. Unfortunately, I’m not. I want to sleep for a few days after the semester is over (which is mid-December).
I’m also looking forward to the ROHK-ShindoTV summit. It will be the second time this year that I’ve met a blog friend in person. It should be fun.
