Our friend James, who works for Round Rock Parks and Recreation, has been telling us for the better part of a year that there’s a new dog park in town. Ray and I have occasionally taken Mocha to the one in Austin, but we usually spend more time in the car than we do at the park, so we don’t take her that often. So, this afternoon we decided to see if we could find it (God bless him, James just isn’t that good with directions) and found, to our surprise, a well-equipped large dog park that’s much nicer than the one we’ve been going to–and much closer to our house. Who knew?

Ray, squinting. It was bright out.

I don’t know what this one’s name was, but I knew he had a) just taken a huge drink of water and b) was coming to deposit it in my lap. I wasn’t wrong.

In addition to tying into the whole “Depot” theme (the park is next to the rail line), this windmill actually pumps water into a trough for the dogs to drink. Pretty nifty stuff.

Mocha, running in circles as always.

Rito the corgi.

Roscoe the corgi. The corgis loved me. (I guess they heard that corgis are the queen’s favorite … yes, it’s lame, but I thought I’d get it out there before anyone else could.)

Mocha, expressing her pride at having learned how to go through the tunnel. Or maybe we’re projecting. Maybe…
