I’m currently sitting in the Admiral’s Club at DFW airport, typing a new post on my phone.
Sometimes before a big trip, I have one of those “What the hell am I doing?” moments. Since I don’t get them much before trips to Egypt anymore, I’ve grown unused to the feeling … but hey, whaddya know? There it is. Breathing in and out. I’d forgotten how long it’s been since I’ve gone on a long trip on my own. Granted, I’m meeting up with people when I get there, but I’m trying to be mindful of the fact that i’m joining a group already in progress and my job is to distract from annoyances and not add to them.
Truth be told, I’m kinda bored. I’ve been here for 45 minutes and it’ll be at least another hour before my plane boards.
I have–true story– a box of easel sized post-it notes as one of my checked bags. I have not yet discovered “Where is the oversized baggage reclamation area?” in my phrasebook yet.
Bah. I’m excited. I wish Ray had been able to come with me, so I’m considering this a research trip for an eventual Brazilian vacation … which, knowing me, will be in a different part of Brazil altogether. Hee hee.
Catch y’all on the flip side. Até logo!
